Halo!

Entschuldigung, ich spreche Deutsch so schlimm, daß ich Englisch sprechen wird…

I recieved a personal (not travel) cheque from canadian company, for the amount of 1750 US dollars, which i want to cash. Actually i want to get real money, not to be deposited to my bank account (but if it's impossible - ok, at least to bank account).

Question 1: do ALL the bank cash the cheques? - if not, which ones do?
Question 2: how much should i pay for this, is there a fee?
Question 3: how long does it take? some people said to me that it may take couple of weeks, some say that you just get your money in 5 minutes.

Vielen Dank!!

Answer:
You go to your bank, others wouldn't touch it, because they don't know you.
If you're a known and well-respected (i.e. wealthy) customer, your bank might give you cash, but that would be an exception of normal procedures. Because it takes a few days to clear the cheque - it might bounce and the bank would be out of their money.

Fees should be around 5 to 10 €.
